My Virtual Assistant services are multifaceted; for some clients I am the one and only “Web Guy,” taking on everything in the digital realm. For other clients my tasks are very specific and concrete. Overall, Virtual Assistant services encompass three overlapping categories:
- Taking care of nitty-gritty online and digital tasks on a day-to-day level
- Webmastering, managing a website, and supervising other digital/social media outlets and arenas
- Helping you strategize around online marketing, and executing those strategies
“Don’t just be a busy bee — be a QUEEN bee!”
Ali Brown, self-made multimillionaire entrepreneur and business coach
For you, the small business owner, the entrepreneur, or the organizer, there are seemingly thousands of “to-dos” on your plate at any given moment. Although you have the skills and passion to achieve your company or organization’s goals, many of the details and incremental steps may not be conducive to your skill set. Or you may not enjoy using those skills and your time can be used more effectively elsewhere. If you find yourself bogged down by the little things and are left with little if any time to work on the things you are passionate about – why you started this company in the first place – it is time to delegate!
Nothing can be more frustrating to a big-picture goal-oriented entrepreneur than the nitty-gritty details – especially technological ones. Here are some examples of things I do for my current clients, allowing them to spend more time doing what they love and are best at:
- Promptly respond to customer inquiries about products and services
- Promptly respond to customer questions about the website and make appropriate changes
- Install, design, and integrate shopping cart software
- Set up affiliate links, banners, and advertisements
- Set up, integrate, and manage an email list
- Edit website content, format, and aesthetic based on new promotions or campaigns – keeping the website up-to-date and looking fresh
“We are advertis’d by our loving friends.”
-William Shakespeare
We are currently in the midst of a dramatic shift in how we understand the concept of “word-of-mouth.” As the internet becomes a preferred means of interaction for people of all ages, new social media tools change the way we communicate with each other. These tools have a profound effect on how we share things with each other – whether feelings and ideas, or preferences and discoveries. With just a few clicks using a tool like Facebook, I can instantaneously tell 1,000 people – all of whom I have met at some point in my life – anything that is on my mind. This can be as mundane as what I had for breakfast, and many people use this tool in that way. Alternatively, I could choose to share with my wide, interconnected network all of my thoughts on an event, a program, or a product. It’s word-of-mouth on an unprecedented scale – just with a few clicks.
It is imperative for any modern company or organization to find ways to utilize these tools, and especially vital for smaller companies that do not have the millions to spend on advertising and marketing. With a good product that people can get excited about, the potential for growth is huge, but someone must track and facilitate that excitement – fanning the flames – in order for that potential to be realized.
The most effective utilization of these new tools and technologies involves three basic elements, all of which I can help you establish and/or maintain:
- Tracking and analyzing online customer activity on your site, as well as other places on the web
- Identifying and reaching out to relevant online communities such as Facebook, Twitter, Blogs, etc.
- Facilitating multi-directional interaction between customers and your company using email lists and social media
For a more specific proposal of how I can put these tools and strategies to work for you, please contact me and I will send you a proposal.
